More information on the upcoming Special Election

July 13th, 2025

Gov. Tim Walz has initiated a special election to fill the late Melissa Hortman's seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives.  We will be updating this page with more information as the process continues.

Important Dates:

- August 12th, 2025  Primary if needed.

            - A Primary will be held if more than one person has filed for candidacy within a major political party

- September 16th, 2025 Election Day
